Summer Learning Opportunities

May 29, 2020

To provide continuity of learning through the summer months, FCPS will continue to provide recommended, virtual learning opportunities for students from June 29 to July 31. All FCPS students who have just completed grades 7-8 will receive both a Mathematics and Language Arts Essentials Summer Practice Book in the mail by the end of June; digital versions of the books will also be posted on the Continuity of Learning Blackboard page. We encourage all of our students to take advantage of these resources.

RCMS teachers will be holding optional weekly office hours to offer students an opportunity to have conversations and receive guidance about the concepts provided through the summer learning packets.  Here are the dates and times for these weekly sessions

Have your child log-in to their FCPS GMail account by the start of next week to find their secure office hour link(s).  Again, these are optional office hours.  You can sign your child up for one or more sessions as needed.  Students who receive either Special Education or ESOL services have an option to attend office hours that are unique to those programs.

Please consider: Register for the courses that your child just completed.  (For example, students who just finished 7th grade and are seeking to attend English office hours should select Language Arts 7). We will not be holding office hours for students who completed Geometry or Algebra II.

We appreciate your support and look forward to the engagement throughout the summer.
