Learning Management Systems

  • Blackboard 24/7 Bb
    • FCPS 24-7 Learning provides parents access to available courses the student is enrolled in, Naviance Student to view College and Academic Career Planning (for Middle and High school students), weCare@school to view and update Emergency Care information, and Bus Stop Information via the Bus Stop module. Parents and students login using the same credentials as logging in to SIS.  
  • Google ClassroomGC
    • Google Classroom is a Learning Management Systems that teachers use to streamline assignments, boost collaboration, and foster communication. Classroom is available on the web or by mobile app. Classroom can be used with many tools that you already use, such as Gmail, Google Docs, and Google Calendar.
  • Blackboard Collaborate Ultra - BbCUbbcu
    • Blackboard Collaborate is a real-time video conferencing tool that lets you add files, share applications, and use a virtual whiteboard to interact. Collaborate with the Ultra experience opens right in your browser, so you don't have to install any software to join a session. Students are added to sessions by their teacher and secure links are emailed to their email address. We recommend students copy those secure links to a document or their desktop so they can easily access them for class each day.

Digital Tools to Support Virtual Learning

  • Google Suite for Educationgsuite
    • A controlled environment in which  FCPS students, faculty, and staff can communicate, store files and collaborate on documents, spreadsheets and presentations. Collaboration can occur in real-time, all within a secure FCPS-managed online environment. The use of these tools provides an approved alternative to consumer Google accounts. G Suite for Education includes the following apps for students: Calendar, Classroom, Contacts, Draw, Drive, Docs, Keep, Forms, Mail, Sheets, Slides, Sites, and Tasks.  Students use their accounts to access the G-Suite.

  • ​​​​​​​EdPuzzle
    • ​​​​​​​EdPuzzle is an engagement tool which requires students to actively watch videos and respond to questions throughout the video.  Videos can be posted directly from their teachers or through youtube.  Students use their account to log in to EdPuzzle. 
  • ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​Flipgrid
    • ​​​​​​​Flipgrid is a website that allows teachers to create "grids" to facilitate video discussions. Each grid is like a message board where teachers can pose questions, called "topics," and their students can post video responses that appear in a tiled grid display. Students can respond via the Flipgrid app or website with any camera-enabled device or by uploading a previously recorded video. Responses can be 15 seconds to five minutes, and a maximum recording time can be set. Teachers can also allow students to record replies to classmates' responses. Students use their accounts to log in to flipgrid.

    • ​​​​​​​Gizmos are interactive math and science simulations for grades 3-12. Over 400 Gizmos aligned to the latest standards help educators bring powerful new learning experiences to the classroom. Students set up their own account and password in the site.
  • ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​Kahoot! kahoot
    • Kahoot! is a game-based learning platform, used as educational technology in schools and other educational institutions. Its learning games, "Kahoots", are user-generated multiple-choice quizzes that can be accessed via a web browser or the Kahoot app.
  • ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​MyONmyon
    • ​​​​​​​MyOn is a personalized digital library which provides students access to more than 6,000 enhanced digital books. 
  • ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​Nearpodnearpod
    • ​​​​​​​Nearpod is a student engagement platform that can be used to amazing effect in the classroom. Teachers can create presentations that contain Quizzes, Polls, Videos, Images, Drawing-Boards, Web Content and so on.
  • ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​Padletpadlet
    • ​​​​​​​Padlet is an online bulletin board for students to post and collaborate, encouraging collaboration online. Students will use their account to access Padlet.
  • ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​Pear Deckpeardeck
    • ​​​​​​​Pear Deck is built to support active learning and empowers teachers to hear from every student, every day, in a classroom or remote learning setting. While school is closed, Pear Deck is one way that we can help students stay connected to their learning community and on track with their educational goals.
  • ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​Quizletquizlet
    • ​​​​​​​Quizlet is an online study application that allows students to study via learning tools and games. Quizlet does not require a login.
  • ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​No Red Inknoredink
    • ​​​​​​​NoRedInk is an online web-based language-learning platform.  Teachers assign work through No Red ink and provide opportunities for feedback and reflection. Students use their FCPS ID and network password to log in.
  • ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​ST Mathstmath
    • ​​​​​​​STMath is a  PreK-8 visual instructional program that leverages the brain's innate spatial-temporal reasoning ability to solve mathematical problems. ST Math’s unique, patented approach provides students with equitable access to learning through challenging puzzles, non-routine problem solving, and informative feedback. With ST Math, students build deep conceptual understanding, and schools see proven, repeatable results.
