Congratulations to history and social studies teacher Sharri Clifford on being recognized as the October FCPS Cares Recipient of the Month for Region 1 by the Department of Human Resources. A recognition ceremony, with refreshments provided by The Foundation for FCPS, was held at the school on the last day of the second quarter.

Below is the write up submitted by her colleague Moosa Shah.

Sharri Clifford is the exemplary teacher. She is a role model for all teachers. She is the department chair, mentor, colleague, and friend to all. Currently, she is yet again working many hours beyond her teaching responsibilities to plan and organize our school's Veteran's Day event, where veterans of all ages and experiences come to our school and share their experiences with the students. This event is a whole building affair and all students get a chance to hear from two or three veterans. Sharri is spearheading this event so that no are the veterans of our community honored and receive appreciation for their service, but to also bring the real world authentic experiences to our students. Sharri is definitely deserving of the FCPS Cares recognition because she cares for all our students, our school and staff, and the community. It is difficult to say thanks to someone who does so much and I hope the possibility of this award brings a smile to her face and so that she knows how much we love and appreciate her.
