On Monday, November 11th, RCMS had the privilege of hosting our annual Veterans Day event where 60 Veterans from all armed forces visited with our staff and students, and shared about their experiences of service to our country.  As the veterans arrived, we welcomed them in our library with muffins made by our NJHS students and coffee provided by our PTA.  The veterans were then escorted to both 7th and 8th grade classrooms where our students heard from a variety of veterans and had the opportunity to learn what life was like for our visitors.  Students asked insightful questions and the natural conversations that evolved were incredible.

Following the veteran visits to the classrooms, students were treated to a performance by the West Point Alumni Glee club.  This patriotic sing along event was a big hit!

Before the day was over, all of our veterans were invited down to the library for a catered BBQ lunch along with desserts made by our NJHS students and drinks provided by the PTA.   Teachers were invited to join our veterans and were able share a meal and to hear more stories from our remarkable veterans.
