Carson School Counseling Program Recognized as ASCA Model Program
Our Rachel Carson Middle School Student Services Department has received the prestigious RAMP (Recognized ASCA Model Program) Award . The RAMP designation is awarded to schools whose counseling programs align with the criteria set in the America School Counseling Association National Model. The award recognizes schools that are committed to delivering a comprehensive, data-driven school counseling program and creating an exemplary educational environment. Our counselors submitted evidence of the impact their program has on support of student achievement, connection to the mission and goals of the school, use of data to drive decisions, and collaboration with stakeholders (parents, students, and administrators) to receive input and evaluate their school counseling program’s effectiveness.
Our Director of Student Services, Jennifer Miley, along with our counselors, Karla Chustz, Rachel Copeland, Nina Ghafori, Christy Ryder, and Beth Schires will be honored at the awards dinner, July 14 , 2025 at the ASCA Annual Conference in Long Beach, California and recognized by FCPS School Counseling Office at the annual county Inservice in August 2025.
The Rachel Carson Middle School Counseling Department has worked intensely for the past two years to meet the standards set forth by the American School Counselor Association (ASCA). After a very rigorous application process, Rachel Carson Middle school is now a Recognized ASCA Model Program (RAMP)!
This is a notable distinction from ASCA and a truly great accomplishment for the department.
Congratulations everyone and thank you to RCMS staff members for supporting our efforts.
